Raul Astudillo Obituary
Raul was known in the community as "Paul" the goldsmith. He operated his successful family business P & V Jewellery for 33 years in the city of St. Catharines, Ontario. Raul's most precious treasure was his family and spending time with them. His favourite pastimes were listening to music and playing his most loved sport, soccer. Not only did Raul play soccer until he was 65 years, it brought him immense joy to watch his grandchildren play the sport too. He was a proud member of the St. Davids and the District Lions Club. Raul's sense of humor will always be remembered as he had the gift to make everyone laugh and smile. The relationships he made throughout life were most important to him. His love of people and helping those in need will forever be his legacy.
Raul's family is most grateful for all the wonderful care he received throughout his illness. The support he received from his community is a testament to the impact he had and the many lives he touched. In accordance with Raul's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). In honour of Raul's life, a Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria, 3 Lyman Street, St. Catharines, on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 10 a.m. A celebration of Raul's life will immediately follow Mass, downstairs in the church hall. An interment will take place at a later time at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be given to Hospice Niagara.

To the Family: Mr Raul was one of my dad's good friends from the old country. As children, Pablo and I and my 2 siblings played in a children's soccer tournament league in Toronto. Ms Victoria was a lovely lady. I have fond memories of those days and of the deep friendship that characterized Mr Raul's and dad's group of friends. One of a kind. May he Rest In Peace.

I am so saddened to hear the passing of Raul. I have so many fond memories with him and his beautiful wife. My father always brought me to visit the both of them and they always treated me as if I were part of their family. I have never known such loving , kind and warm hearted people. Our utmost love and thoughts go to his beautiful wife and his family. I still remember like yesterday visiting the both of them at their shop. We just saw you this summer.im still in disbelief.
