Reginald GOODE

Reg passed away on February 11, 2023 at Meadows of Dorchester Long Term Care Home. He resided at the home after a stay in the hospital after his stroke. Children Diane (Gilles) Picard, Ken (Darlene) Goode and Donna (Rocky) Venditti visited daily, he was surrounded by love. The staff at Meadows often commented on what a lovely resident Reg was. Reg suffered a stroke in September but until that point resided in his home and was as independent as possible. Reg loved his house, his routine and having his grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit. Reg would say, "If it wasn't for my eyes" He hated the thought of losing his independence. Every moment is a gift. He was the adored grandfather of Carey (Steve) Bridges, Michael Reece, Tyler (Yuki) Goode, Tanner (Ali) Goode, Nicole (Dylan) Venditti and Taylor (Tyler) Venditti. Cherished great-grandfather of Brady, Eric and Emma Bridges, Keeran and Patrick Reece, Kousuke and Kento Goode, Riley and Blake Goode. Predeceased by his wife Mary Mathewson and four siblings. Reg was an avid fisherman back in the day. He was active in the Caribbean club with Mary, loved jive dancing and great music. He was also Mary's private chauffeur for many, many years. He will always be remembered for the above ground pool on Page Street and throwing the best parties on the block. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Reg's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, March 3rd from 2-5 p.m. and a service to follow at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. There will be a private family inurnment at a later date. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Walker Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
