I am a former student of "Mr" Chagnon and graduated from his Westlane SS chemistry class in in 1967. A fond memory of an acid spill came to mind recently and prompted this search. He was a wonderful teacher who demonstrated empathy and respect for all. I apologise for the late condolences but I'm a retired science teacher living in Cairns Au. My best to all.

I worked with Bob at Westlane S.S for many years. We also enjoyed many golf outings together over the years. He was the “ultimate gentlemen”.
Condolences to Jean and the family, so sorry for your loss

Jean and family so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. My memory of him was when he was enjoying his lawn bowling days at the club. Jim Stewart

Bob was a wonderful man who welcomed people no matter their age. I will always remember him welcoming me into the Senior Choir at church with a joke and an uplifting comment. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

My favorite teacher at Westlane back in the early 60's. I can still see Mr. Chagnon in his lab coat standing in front of us and cracking one of his jokes. He later selflessly took time to help me when I began my teaching career. I'm sorry for your loss. May his memory be eternal.

To all the Chagnon Family: I'm sad to learn of Bob's passing. Although it's been many years, I have fond memories of Mr Chagnon from my childhood years on Carman Street and always remember his beautiful green 1950 Dodge. Hope you all find peace knowing Bob is now at rest. Dave, please e mail me so we can connect ... [email protected]
