As a boy growing up, I have many fond memories of Azelle .
Azelle and Nick were part of the Parkway Lanes bowling crowd and would come to parties hosted by my parents. I learned how to operate an outboard motor at a cottage on Rice Lake when staying with Nick and Azelle.
Azelle was engaging. Whenever we spoke, she treated me as a grown up. I enjoyed her down to earth manner and wit. She would always seek me out when "the crowd" was over and just make me feel good. Sadly, "the crowd" that my parents enjoyed socializing with so much have now all passed.
I can't help but think that someone higher up intervened last Sunday when I was visiting a friend on Rice Lake. Not knowing of Azelle's passing, we headed out onto Rice Lake to find that cottage where my parents and I had so much fun with Nick and Azelle. We found it! I'm sure Azelle had a smile on her face when she saw us from above pointing to the cottage and recounting the stories of fun we had there.

Azelle was a sweet lady who quick to join in and have some fun! It was my pleasure to get to know her at Plymouth Cordage.
