Ronald "Ron" Boichuk

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron on Saturday, September 4, 2021 in his 80th year. A loving husband to Cecile (nee Lapointe) for 57 years. A cherished father to Kevin (Maria), Linda (Tom), and Jennifer. A devoted brother to Ken (Karen). A proud grandpa to Emily, Amanda, Victoria, and Kaitlin. He will be missed by his father-in-law Robert Lapointe and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Claude, Roger (Karen), Diane (Roger), Suzanne (Perry), and Doris. He will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents John and Anne (nee Kolwich) and his mother-in-law Marie Lapointe. Ron was born and lived his entire life in Welland. Talking proudly of his time growing up in the Industrial Park neighborhood with many friends he played sports with, especially hockey. He spent 30 years working at Page Hersey in various mills. He was always very proud of his well-manicured yard and his beautiful flower beds. In the winter, he loved to cheer on his beloved Toronto Maple Leaf's and reminisce about the greats like Johnny Bower, Tim Horton, and Teeder Kennedy. In the summer he found the time to cheer on the Blue Jays and cherished the games he caught in person with Kevin. The family would like to extend its appreciation to the staff at the Transition Program of St Elizabeth and also Paramed for their care and kindness to Ron over the last few months. The family would like to personally thank Kat for taking great care of Ron. Her cheerful disposition and humming of a song as she cared for him uplifted our moods and brightened our day. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral service has been held. Donations are greatly appreciated to the St Elizabeth Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
