of Portal Village Port Colborne and formerly of Sherkston, passed away at the Welland County General Hospital on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Garfield Howes (1976) and partner of the late John Interisano (2004), loving mother of Doreen Howes, Kathryn Howes and Sandra (George) Hogan, dear grandmother of Shannon (Omar) Zabaneh, Tanya (Brad) Moore, Ryan (Daniela) Hogan, Lauren (Kostas) Viastikopoulos, great grandmother of Sahar, Emily, Lucas, Zoe, Eleni and Thea. Sister of Joyce Wohlert, aunt of Keith (Char) Bailey, Laurie (Darlene) Entwistle, Vicki (Barrie) Paysen, David (Bertha) Entwistle and Donald (Lorraine) Entwistle. Also survived by her dear friend Barry Mullen. She was also predeceased by her parents James and Marie Entwistle, siblings Fred (Adonie) Entwistle and Joan (Howard) Bailey and her nephew Greg Bailey. Ruth was a kind and caring person who made friends wherever she went. Like her brother, she was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. She worked for Walter J Smith's store in Port Colborne for many years. Ruth never met a card game that she did not enjoy playing, and playing well, and many of her friends were also avid card players. Ruth was a member of the First United Church in Sherkston. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Portal Village, ParaMed and the Welland Hospital for their caring support. There will be no visitation and cremation has taken place. A family service will be held at a later date with interment in Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the
