Thomas Neufeld Obituary

September 5, 1951 - June 23, 2022
It is with heavy hearts our family announces the passing of Thomas. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his brother and sisters, Paul (Nancy) Neufeld, Charlotte (Arno) Letkemann and Rita (Peter) DeMoel, his daughter Cynthia Neufeld, son and daughter-in-law, James (Shelley) Neufeld. His grandchildren have so many fond memories of their opa / choo choo grandpa and will certainly miss him dearly; Ashton, Justina, Blake, Josie, Danya and Jolee will always hold him close in their hearts. He leaves behind and will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He will always be remembered for his love of dogs, motorcycles, trains, and racing. He will be missed for his great smile and loud laugh. He was always an extremely hard worker at the many careers he had, diesel mechanic, general contractor, realtor, and building inspector. His family extends a heartfelt and sincere 'Thank You' to all his friends, doctors, nurses, and emergency services for their care and compassion over these last couple years. The family welcomes friends to Pleasantview Funeral Home, 2000 Merrittville Highway, Thorold (905-892-1699) for a Memorial Service on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas's memory can be made to the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society, Welland. As many others, I had the pleasure of working with Tom at the Town of Fort Erie. I loved all his stories about his bike rides with his four-legged passenger, his joyous laugh, and the stories he shared with me about his children and grand-children. He will be dearly missed. Rest in Paradise Tom.

Tom was a long time friend since school days. He and I rode together many times on our motorcycles in the late 1960s. We shared various rites if passage events as teenagers...

I had the pleasure of working with Tom for a few years. Tom was always bright and cheerful at work and his laugh would fill the entire floor. Tom spoke often of his children and grandchildren and was SO proud of all of them. I will play some Beatles music for you Tom. RIP

I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. Coincidently, I drove by his house on Thursday because I was in the area and wanted to stop and say Hi. I first met Tom with Ollie when they took part in the Motorcycle Ride for Dad in 2012. Sadly the date for the annual ride coincided with another ride he took part in and he was unable to continue with the Ride for Dad. My condolences to all of Tom' family. RIP Tom.. I am sure there will be lots of pups up there for you to make friends with.

We are so very sad to hear about the passing of Tom. He was truly such a kind and fun person to be around. We have great memories of Tom coming to our 'dyno days' and bringing people he knew to make it a special event for guys getting their bikes tuned! He attended every single event!
Tom was so supportive. He would just pop in to say hello. We will miss him very much!

Our hearts are with his family and his much adored grandchildren!!!

Jim, I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your father. Tom was a good man and was very proud of you. I enjoyed having him as a student in the Construction program, I had a lot of respect for what he was able to accomplish.

We are extremely shocked and heart broken to hear about Tom. Our neighbourhood won't be the same and we'll miss seeing him walking his dog and having a little chat. I'll never forget seeing him and his well trained dog on his motorcycles side car, the highlight of our summers seeing that for many years. Our condolences

Our neighbourhood will never be the same without Tom. We will miss you on our morning walks to the bus stop. The kids adored you and how you´d always make a fuss over them. Thank you for being a helpful and kind neighbor all these years, offering advice or lending something whenever it was needed. Cabos will miss the treats you always had on hand. Our condolences to Tom´s family at this time. He will be dearly missed.

Tom was an amazing man. We met through the CVMG club and me being a young guy coming in he had nothing but great ideas for us and always helped with problems on bike builds. Over the years I got to know Tom I got to see all his interests from train set builds to all the bikes and great painter he was. In fact he did a piece for out moto art show back a few years that was auctioned off for raising money for the SPCA. Talking pets We all know Tom loved every dog around! You always knew Tom was here with Ollie if he had the sidecar out with him!
My deepest heart felt condolences, this one hits hard as a young guy that looks up to these great men this one is a loss a little piece of us all will feel for years to come.

It is with deep sympathy that I send my condolences. I am a member of the Welland Country Motorcycle Club since 1997. Tom was one of the first members that greeted and welcomed me into the club. I not sure when Tom left the club but I am sure it´s been around ten years. Tom always warned me that our organization was a working club and he was absolutely right. I have always respected Tom for his straight forward talk. He always had a large smile, friendly hello and time to listen to me as well as others. He love for vintage bikes and custom bikes were inspirational. He will be missed by many other older club members.
I send my condolences to Tom´s family, loved ones and friends
May Tom, Rest In Peace
