Tony MANNELLA Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tony Mannella, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and renowned musician. Tony was a master of the piano, guitar, and accordion, and was an associate member of the Royal Conservatory of Music. He was also a fourth-degree and life member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as Pro-Life Chairman for 20 years and as President of Right to Life for 8 years. Tony was a co-founding member and a life member of the Centennial Fish and Game Club. He owned and operated the Tony Mannella School of Music for over 50 years and performed regularly with his orchestra, Tony Mannella and his Serenaders for over 20 years.
Tony was survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Lidia (a.k.a. Leigh), whom he loved deeply. He also leaves behind his children, Sam (Mara), Anthony (Evie), Franklyn, Mary Dolores (the late Robert Joseph), Dorothy (John), and John Paul (JJ), as well as his eleven cherished grandchildren; Laura, Anthony, Jessica, Alaina (Nick Gauthier), Andrew, Michael, Hayley (Christopher Buchanan), Benjamin, Cassandra Leigh, John Robert, and Johnathan who affectionately referred to him as "Pepe." Tony is also survived by his brother Dee (Donna), sister Phyllis (the late Joseph Futino), sister Rita (Domenic Mazzotta), sister-in-law Rose (the late Saverio D' Avolio), brother-in-law Chuck Minotti (the late Mary) and brother-in-law Nick Minotti (Joanne).
He was predeceased by his parents, Sam and Maria Mannella, brothers and sisters Victor, Vincent (Franca), Joe (Antoinette), and Mary Daniele, and in-laws Frank and Maria Minotti. Despite these losses, Tony's life was filled with love, surrounded by numerous nieces, nephews, God children, and friends. Tony will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We would like to thank the Dr. Reinhard Brunner, Linda Ready, NP, and special thanks to the staff of Niagara Long-Term Care Residence who allowed him to die with dignity.
"The greatest celebration is that of a life well lived."

I had guitar lessons from Tony when I was a little boy. I was watching a sermon today that reminded me of him out of no where, so after a quick search on the internet I found this, that he had passed this year. My condolences to the family. Tony taught me, and always reminded me, when I was learning to read sheet music from him, that the AD stood for Anno Domini, which means, in the year of our Lord.
