Verna Blanche WHITEHORNE

Passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter and granddaughter to meet her Lord and Saviour on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the age of 99. She is survived by her sister Leone Giles of Consecon, Ontario, her son Robert Whitehorne (Sharon) of Arnprior, Ontario and her daughter Ruth Johnson (John) of Niagara Falls, Ontario. Verna had five grandchildren that she adored throughout her life: Scott Whitehorne (Avia), Sherry Lafratta (David), Tara Rivest (Rohan), Graydon Whitehorne and Greer Whitehorne (Jamie). She is also survived by several great-grandchildren. During the course of her life, Verna was blessed with many lifelong friends and will be missed by her dearest friend Lucille Frame of Ottawa. Verna was born in Debert, Nova Scotia and relocated to Ottawa after meeting the love of her life, Clifford Whitehorne. After his passing in 1992, Verna moved to Niagara Falls. Verna was an exceptional lady. Hard working, fun loving and the glue that held our family together. She was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. Our family was blessed to have her with us for so many years. Rest in peace mom. Until we meet again. The family would like to thank all who were involved with her care over the years. Thank you to St. Elizabeth Home Care nursing staff, and a special thank you to Christopher Smith who cared for her so lovingly for many years. You were our rock. Recognition also goes to Dr. Christopher Russell who cared for our mother so compassionately. As per Verna's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place with the committal of her ashes at a later date in Ottawa. Arrangements entrusted to the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls.
