William McBride Obituary

With broken hearts we had to say good-bye to a very special person. Bill left this world surrounded and supported by his family who meant everything to him. Bill was loved as a husband, father, Poppa, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife and best friend Donna. He was a devoted Dad to his children Jennifer (Mike), Rob (Sarah), and stepson James. Bill's greatest pride was being Poppa to his granddaughters Alexis and Sami. Bill was the youngest brother to Emy, Bob (Fern), Ken (Marg) and Joan (Gord). In his 34-year teaching career and coaching Bill positively influenced the lives of many young people. The family is grateful to Dr. Greenway and the Staff of 4th Floor at Tabor Manor who cared for Bill for the last six years with expertise and respect. His family is also thankful to the staff for the love and support they have been shown during these difficult years. Friends and family will be received at GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME on September 18th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a celebration of Bill's life to follow at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Lincoln County Humane Society to recognize Bill's love of animals.

I am so sorry for the families loss.. my deepest condolences.
Mr. McBride was that special teacher for me. When people ask if there was one teacher who impacted your life or who you remember the most it was definitely Mr. McBride. I will always have fond memories of my grade 6 class at Consolidated school

We are so deeply saddened to hear of Bill's passing. :( He was a good friend to my father Ray, and an eventual next door neighbour this past year at Tabor Manor. Dad met Bill thru curling and enjoyed every minute of his time with him. We send our deepest sympathies and condolences to Donna and the family at this difficult time. Rest easy Bill. Love, the Wood family.

I met Billy when he owned a sports card shop in St. Catharines. This is such sad news. Your were a kind, funny man who had a great passion for sports. It was a pleasure to have met you my friend! Till we meet again!

Bill mcbride was my grade 4 & 5 teacher at Gracefield in Port Dalhousie. When I was failing math, he stayed after hours to tutor me. The final exams he announced that my mark was 85%. I couldn´t run home fast enough to tell my parents. He was my favourite teacher of all time

Mr McBride was my grade 6 teacher at Gracefiekd school back in the 60´s He was by far the best educator I have had in all my years of school with college and university. A true champion for kids in striving for their best. Sending love to all his family

Mr. McBride was our science teacher at Pine Grove in the mid-'80s. For one of our lessons, he was telling us that if you soaked an egg in vinegar long enough, it would bounce if you threw it against the wall. He threw the egg against the chalkboard and the egg splattered everywhere. We all had a good laugh.

Bill was a valuable member of the staff at Pine Grove School during my years there as Principal. He helped build, coordinate and present one of the most comprehensive complete Library and teacher assistance program during his time there. Bill had a great personality accompanied by a great sense of humor and work ethics. I wish his wife and family my deepest condolences.
