ADAM PARKIN Obituary

Adam Robert Parkin, born May 19, 1975, passed away suddenly on December 14, 2025. His unexpected passing leaves an immeasurable loss in the lives of his family and all who knew and loved him. Adam was the beloved husband of Sybil Wa; and a devoted father to Mei, Clara, Ivy, and Gwyn. He was a cherished son of Robert and Katie Parkin; a dear brother to Erin Parkin (Michael Mueller); a loving son-in-law to Hedy and David Wa; and a brother-in-law to Eric Wa. Adam graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree and later earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He built an exceptional 25-year career at TD Securities, where most recently he served as a Managing Director in the Asset Securitization Group, and was located for the past 11 years in New York City. Adam was instrumental in helping to build the firm's asset-backed securities franchises in both Canada and the United States. A lifelong learner, he was completing a Masters degree through the Harvard University Extension School at the time of his passing. Adam proudly served in the Canadian Army Reserve as an Armoured Reconnaissance Officer with The Queen's York Rangers (1st American Regiment). A top graduate of the Armoured Officer qualification, he completed a combat tour in Afghanistan in 2008 and received a Command Commendation for deeds above normal duty. In 2012, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of his service. Adam retired with the rank of Major. Adam's legacy lives on through his family, the love he shared, the service he gave, the values he embodied, and the countless lives he touched. He will be remembered always and missed beyond words by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the joy of knowing him. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Military Institute Toronto. A memorial Service in NYC will be held on January 22nd, 3:30 p.m., at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, Park Avenue. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Queens York Rangers Regimental Council (https://qyrang.ca/donate).

Katie and Bob and Erin we are so sad that Adam was taken so young . You have a son and brother that you must be so proud of . The speeches at the memorial were memorable and painted such a wonderful portrait of who Adam was . His legacy lives on in his girls and Sybil . I wish to add that I will be thinking and praying for all of you as you continue to grieve for Adam.
