Adrian MILES Obituary
It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of my brother Adrian Miles, June 11, 2024. Over a period of 10 years with ongoing medical issues, Adrian's heart succumbed to the stress put upon his body. Helping him to recover from major heart surgery, my wife (Suzi) and I (Tim Miles) spent many weeks with Adrian. Knowing he had an extension on life, Adrian went on to enjoy quality time with his partner, Nora Turkevics, and his children Winston and Montana Miles. Adrian was able to enjoy some happy times with his new grand daughter, Poppy. Adrian and my sister, Fiona, were both born in Kuala Belait, Brunei, where our parents were based in the 50s, returning to the UK in the 60s, settling in Chester, Cheshire . Adrian quickly realized his destiny and moved to London, where his high octane personality, succeeded in the highly stressful moving markets of the global Foreign Exchange. Working hard by day and power entertaining at night, Adrian won over the trust of London's top traders. After a stint in Bahrain during the 70s, Adrian and Linda, (past wife) moved to NY with continued success. There he made lifetime friends, spending many weekends with Ian, David aka Minder, Rob and or his wine "partner" Danny and his wife Sheila. By the early 80s, Adrian and Linda moved on to Toronto, where he was often seen dining at his favourite restaurant, Fentons, and eventually onto Opus restaurant. Adrian's dining experiences became a focal point in a growing wine collection. Having spent a life of success working for Tullet and Co, Adrain made the move to head up the office of Charles Fulton. In 1985 Adrian and I thought working together could be dynamic and so I relocated from London. We complemented each other well, in both our business and personal life. His long successful career was upended in the 90s with global Company politics, So Adrian and his then wife, Jayne, decided it was time for a family and moved to the Bahamas, where their social, tennis and golf life, took a back seat to Winston and Montana. By the early 90s, Adrian, Winston and Montana returned to Toronto, initially staying with me, before moving on closer to the schools. Adrian had taken on the single father role seriously, spending a lot of time with their schooling and sports. By 2014-2015 with Adrian's health declining, he was able to visit Mum in the UK before her passing and his own issue with a bout of pneumonia . Fiona, during this visit, was able to reconnect with Adrian and continued after Mums passing. Adrian's energy and personality will never be replicated or matched, he was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by his friends, and market colleagues. His loved ones will miss the love he showed, the generosity and sacrifices made to raise both Winston and Montana, always reflected by the pride he shared with everyone. Both Winston and Montana experienced an incredible education that has set them up for life. I'm only too happy knowing how much I could help him through the years. Suzi and I will miss the family updates and beautiful pictures of Poppy., having watched Adrian go through so much, we both know he deserved better. Whilst I know he is in a better place, I will dearly miss my brother. RIP
