Agnes PODOLSKY Obituary
AGNES PODOLSKY 'I loved the natural world - plants, animals, trees - and had a profound reverence for life of all kinds. I was especially fortunate in the love of my partner and love of my life, Terry Podolsky. I haven't really deserved so much good fortune in my life but I am grateful for it as it comes to a close. May we rest in peace my dearest Terry... Love always to you and our five wonderful children and grandchildren and family members. Please God bless you all.' -Agnes Podolsky Agnes died peacefully, at her residence in Oakville on October 25, 2023. Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, on March 18, 1930, Agnes was the youngest of four children of William and Agnes Simcock. She graduated with a BA from the University of New Brunswick in 1951 and moved to Ottawa, where she met her husband, Terry Podolsky, to whom she was married for 58 years until his death in 2011. She is survived by her five children, Eva Taylor (Stephen), William Podolsky (Arlene Donovan), Michael Podolsky (Momo), Tara Pencak (Marko) and Mark Podolsky (Mary Jo Ducharme); and a score of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A classic beauty with poise and elegance, she had a great sense of mischief and fun. She was kind and tender-hearted, often the first to lend the helping hand to someone with a problem, and was fiercely loyal to those she loved. She made a warm, welcoming home that was both a refuge from the world and a gathering place. Visitation will take place November 1, 2023, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville. The funeral will be held at St. Andrew's Church in Oakville on November 2, 2023, at 10.30 a.m., with a reception to follow in the parish centre.
