Sorry to hear of the passing of Ahti, there were alot of memorable times many years ago. Ahti was a very smart and articulate man and will be missed. I would like to thank Steve for the complimentary words sent when my mother passed.

Ahti was a great friend of my father's, a surgeon in Peterborough. They worked together for most of their careers. From the stories I heard them tell (many hilarious), they shared many memorable cases and no doubt helped a lot of patients with difficult problems.
As Ahti transitioned from anesthesia to surgical assisting at the end of his career, I worked with him myself for years. He was thoughtful, clever, inquisitive and very knowledgeable about medicine, but also of a vast number of other topics. I especially recall one of his stories during a case that was so funny we all had to stop for a couple of minutes and settle down - it became a legend!
What was always evident to everyone was his love for Millie, and his pride for Jane and Steve.
His contribution to his adopted home Peterborough was great, and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He truly was one of kind.
