Aidan LILLIS-WHITE Obituary
LILLIS-WHITE, Aidan William September 12, 1989 - April 8, 2015
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of our dearly beloved Aidan William Lillis-White, when his car lost control and left the road north of Toronto on the night of April 8, 2015. Aidan was the eldest of two sons of Deborah Anne Lillis and Thomas White. He was a great mentor for his brother, Conor, and a loving companion of his partner of over seven years, Victoria Gillespie. The loss of his Mother to ovarian cancer, in August of 2013, was profound. He tried mightily to adjust and to strive to lead his life in keeping with the humanity that she instilled in him from his first breath. Aidan was a natural athlete who loved hockey, baseball and canoeing. He was also a master of the culinary arts and took pleasure in cooking for those he loved. A free spirit, a quick study and a generous sense of humour endeared him to the many people whose lives he touched. Among his happiest moments were times spent with extended family members at cottages in Muskoka and on the Connecticut shores of Long Island Sound. He travelled widely and savoured his worldly experiences whether in Kenya, France, New England, Newfoundland or Tofino. Aidan attended Oakwood Collegiate, Rosseau Lake School and Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia majoring in political science and psychology. Most recently he had been working in construction and home renovation and loved to talk about the new skills he enthusiastically learned through trial and error. He became a valued handyman in both the kitchen and the workshop. Aidan had reached a stage in his life where he was searching for his particular niche and we are saddened that his search ended so abruptly. He will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Ovarian Cancer Canada. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, 11:00 a.m., at Bloor Street United Church, 300 Bloor Street West, Toronto.
