Alan KINNEAR Obituary

ALAN GRANT KINNEAR Al passed away peacefully on October 9, 2022, at Humber River Hospital, at the age of 80. He experienced a rapid decline in his general health during the past month and died of natural causes. Al never married and is survived by his brother, David (Virginia); his nephews, Steven (Astrid), Scott (Sarah) and Michael (Emily);one great-niece and four great- nephews. Al was born in Windsor, Ontario, where he spent his first three years. He then lived in the family home in Moore Park for 72 years, followed by five years at The Villages of Humber Heights Retirement Home in Etobicoke. After high school, Al studied to obtain his CGA certification, which led to a career in income tax accounting. In his younger days, he loved airplanes and air travel and circumnavigated the globe. He was a loyal supporter of all Toronto sports teams and his beloved Buffalo Bills and enjoyed a pint at his favourite local pubs. Cremation has taken place, and as per his wishes, a private family remembrance will be held and his ashes will be interred at the family gravesite.

I lived at 99 Heath Street East from 1948 to 1970. I remember watching Al and Dave throwing a ball back and forth, seemingly for hours at a time, all through my childhood (1950's & early 60's). Many years later I encountered Al, on several occasions, outside his house. He would always ask about our mutual friends and neighbours Bob and John Manning.

I had the pleasure of being one of Allan's physicans for many years. I remember his quirky sense of humour and knowledge of sports.
