Albert DUNCANSON Obituary

DUNCANSON, Albert Gordon ;Spunk
Of Knowlton, formerly of Pointe Claire, Quebec. A great gentleman left us on March 27, 2000. A long life of dignity (88 years) ended peacefully at the Brome Missisquoi Perkins Hospital, Cowansville, Quebec. Bert was a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, the only child of Elsie and Duncan Duncanson. Bert's first devotion was always to his wife of sixty-four years, Vi Burr. He was the most caring father to his daughters, Judith and Janie and his son-in-law, Steve Trew. He was the proud grandfather of Sara, Jordan and the late Christy Trew. In addition to his family, Bert's delight was hockey. He was a member of the 1932 Canadian Olympic Gold Medal Team at Lake Placid. He maintained his interest in the sport throughout his life, giving up his Olympic skates to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1998 along with other hockey memorabilia. His long career was spent in the oil industry. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Paul's Church, Knowlton, Quebec at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2000. In his memory, contributions to the B.M.P. Foundation, Intensive Care Unit, 950 Principale, Cowansville, P.Q., J2K 1K3 would be most greatly appreciated. Their care and compassion are an example of ;how it should be.
