Alexander WWII veteran Shell retiree of Toronto and of Owen GIBSON

Alexander GIBSON Obituary

GIBSON, Alexander, WWII veteran, Shell retiree, of Toronto and of Owen Sound
On Sunday, September 23, 2001. Alex was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1917. His beloved wife June Fenton Gibson predeceased him in 1994. Lovingly remembered by his daughter Susan M. Gibson and her companion Allan D. Stone of Owen Sound, his sisters Nettie of Toronto, Jean of Elmvale and many nieces and nephews. Special friend to his nephews Brian Goggins of Sudbury and David E. Diamond of Whitby. Alex was uncle to Robert Irving Jr. of Lawrence, Kansas. Friend of Val Rosser of Toronto, Ricardo Zarzosa of Ottawa, fellow artist and Golden Kiwanian Hermann Ackermann of Owen Sound, and loyal Toronto Shell pals Jim, Molly and Alf. He loved his feisty game of cribbage with his loyal caregiver Joyce McIntosh of Annan, Alex's dear friend. Summit Place staff in Owen Sound gave Alex fine familial care and Dr. Toomas Sauks kept him going like the energizer bunny. Alex wished no service, ;no fuss, no muss. Donations to the Tom Thomson Memorial Gallery in Owen Sound 519-372-1932 or the Escarpment Biosphere Conservancy 416-960-8121 would help us celebrate art and the Earth, two vital themes in this family's life.
