Alfred TILBE Obituary
TILBE, Alfred Peter, B.Arch., O.A.A., F.R.A.I.C. Born Toronto, June 28, 1929
Passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, on February 26, 1999 at Markham Stouffville Hospital. A graduate of the School of Architecture, U. of T. in 1952. Upon graduation, he joined the firm of Shore and Moffat eventually becoming senior partner at Shore Tilbe Henschel Irwin Peters, Architects and Engineers. Alfred chaired many committees and assisted with many organizations, both at his church and in his community. An active member of the Ontario Association of Architects and supporter of the School of Architecture, U. of T. A man of great integrity, honour and generosity; a man of faith and an inspiration to us all. He leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years Roberta (nee McDonnell). Father of Dr. Kim Stephen and wife Dr. Patricia Kresan, Robin and husband Glen Boy, Judith and husband David Graham, Karen and husband Geoff Reed. Grandfather of Ashley, Erin, Courtney, Scott, Carlye, Luke and Jack. Friends may call at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at Spring Garden Church (112 Spring Garden Avenue, North York) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. If desired, donations may be made to Spring Garden Church, Columbia Disaster Fund or Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
