Alice CRABTREE Obituary

ALICE EULALIA CRABTREE NEE: FOURNIER (1921-2009) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Alice who passed peacefully in her sleep March 11 at the age of 87. She will be dearly missed by her son John Charles Crabtree, her daughter Dr. Ann Elizabeth Crabtree, her son in law Dr. Greg Storwick, her grandchildren Vhari, Lauren, Michael and Thomas and her daughter in spirit Kim Matthews Kimbell. Alice was born on November 21, 1921, the fifth of the twelve children of Louis and Irma Fournier in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba. Growing up in a big family in rural northern Ontario inspired in Alice a great love of nature and the outdoors which she carried with her when she moved to the big city of Toronto, married and had a family. Alice was a beautiful, extremely intelligent woman with a passionate spirit. Her greatest loves were her children and grandchildren, her extended family, the world's great literature and nature. Alice will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her sisters and brothers, Wilf, Trudi, Peggy, Adele, Art and Pat, all her nieces and nephews, and their families. Alice was predeceased by her former husband Alan H. Crabtree in October 2008 and her sisters and brothers, Norisse, Maurice, Albert, Della and Helen. A service for family and friends will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Saturday March 14, 2009.
