My most heartfelt condolences go out to The Rt.-Hon. Jean Chretien, P.C. O.M. C.C. Q.C. on the sudden passing of Mrs. Chretien. I want to thank Mr. Chretien for paying an official visit, on Friday, February 13, 1998, to the collegiate in Winnipeg I was attending. The educator who was assisting me with my school project, Mr. (Steve) Patrick, on The Prime Minister, for my Social Studies course, is the most gentle teacher I've ever had.

I wish to convey my sincere condolences to the family and friends.
I share Kevin Morrisey's fond childhood memories of the Chrétien household, having been a classmate of her son Hubert and a friend after school. I can attest: Mrs. Chrétien was a gracious host to one and all.
Une personne aux qualités exceptionnelles, Madame Chrétien était attentive et attentionnée envers son entourage.
Sa contribution... à sa famille, à ses proches, à son pays... et son souvenir nous sont précieux. Son départ nous attriste.

We had the same Italian teacher who told me once ( she's the kindest person that she's ever met) and I agree.
I know Aline and Jean for over years and her passing broke my heart and the heart of my family and her friends.

Aline was a wonderful lady. Growing up in Ottawa and being classmates with Hubert, I had the opportunity several times to go over to the Chretien s house and "play" after school hours.
I remember Aline being a very calming lady and made one feel very welcome in her home. An exceptional woman who will be surely missed by many.

Aline played a major role in my decision to vote for the Liberal party of the day. As I now think back to my reasoning...I became aware of her rock steady loving relationship with her husband and her strong determination to understand and participate in decisions made. Rest in peace.
She was a fascinating woman. A huge loss for her family and all of us who remember her.
