ALLAN GIBBINS Obituary

(October 26, 1948 - February 19, 2026) "To live in the hearts of those who love you is to never die" Peacefully, at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital, in his 78th year, Allan passed away surrounded by his family. Devoted son of the late Margaret Gibbins (Kilpatrick) and Arthur B. Gibbins. Beloved husband to Barbara (nee Pardiak). Proud father of Allison (Frank Belme), Jennifer, and Leah (Ben Goldlist). Adored grandfather of Adam, Ryan, and Georgia. Predeceased by his brother, Arthur R. (Bob) Gibbins (Jean Brooks). Allan will be fondly remembered by his sister, Ann Smith (Rod); his brother, J. David Gibbins; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends. Allan built a distinguished career grounded in integrity, sound judgment, and enduring relationships. He was known for his steady counsel and the trust he inspired. Beyond his professional life, Allan's quiet generosity and distinctive kindness defined him. Helping others and giving back were simply part of who he was, reflected in his devoted support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada and the United Way. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in Allan's memory may be made to Mackenzie's Chronic Kidney Disease programme. A celebration of Allan's life will be held at a later date. Allan touched the hearts of everyone who knew him with his kind and gentle spirit. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.

Dear Barb,
The loss of a spouse is one of the hardest challenges that we face while on earth.
The devotion necessary to be a primary care giver is a huge endeavor that many of us encounter.
Recently, i have lost a spouse and it is not easy.
The memories of the positive life experiences will always be with you.
Allen has now moved on to a place of no pain, no medical procedures and an environment of peace and tranquility.
I want you to know you are loved and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
With deepest sympathy,
Cousin Ron

Ann, Mareena and I were very saddened to hear of Al's passing. Al was a good friend and a very strong mentor for me throughout my career. I will always be grateful for his guidance and the confidence he had in me over so many years of working together. I know that many others share my gratitude for his unwavering support. Al always gave back to the electrical industry and was always generous with his time and support for worthwhile causes - and there were many! A very active leader in community initiatives and was always fully invested in everything he tackled. Our sincerest condolences to the Gibbins family and trust that they will find the strength to mourn their loss and find the peace that they so richly deserve. We will miss him. Love always...

I had the pleasure to work for Hubbell when he was President . He was always willing to listen to what you had to say whether he agreed with you or not. Made many changes at Hubbell Canada that allowed it grow.
