LAMPORT, Allan Austin, C. M. Order of Canada, former Mayor of Toronto, member of the Legislature of Ontario, Chairman of the Toronto Transit Commission. RCAF
In his 97th year, at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, on November 18, 1999, peacefully, surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his loving wife Edythe Thompson. Beloved Dad of Jane and her husband Glen Day, Suzanne and her husband John E. (Ted) Sievenpiper. Dearest grandfather of Glen L. and wife Patti, Allan R. and wife Lynn, Andrew W. and wife Linda Day, and John L. and Craig L. Sievenpiper. Cherished greatgrandfather of Havilland, Jennifer, Cameron and Alanna Day. Also survived by brother Norman Lamport. A great Canadian that will be sadly missed by all. Resting at THE RALPH DAY FUNERAL HOME, 180 Danforth Ave. (east of Broadview Subway Station). Visitation on Sunday, November 21, from 3-6 p.m. and Monday, November 22, from 4-7 p.m. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 23 SERVICE AT 2:30 P.M. IN ST. PAUL'S ANGLICAN CHURCH (227 Bloor St. East) WITH VISITATION ONE HOUR PRIOR. Private interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please remember Variety Village (3701 Danforth Ave., Toronto M1N 2G2) or Wimodausis Children's Foundation (46 St. Clair Gardens, Toronto M6E 3V4) or the charity of your choice.
