Amanda HOOD Obituary

Amanda Jean Hood
May 11 1980 -
January 14 2014

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic death of our beloved Amanda on January 14, 2014. Amy will be forever missed by her parents Bob and Beth (Bradley Jones), and by her devoted sisters, Erin and Katie, who will always treasure their third musketeer. Amy will also be fondly remembered by her many aunts, uncles, cousins - Rick (Lorrie), Jane, Connie (Adriane), Barbara (Larry); cousins, Tara (Ben, Eric), Dan, Evan, Norah; stepbrothers and sisters, Brock (Lisa, Luke, Tessa), Oliver, Isabel and Alexandra Jones. Amy attended school in Toronto including Lawrence Park Cl where she forged extraordinary life-long friendships. She made more friends when she was in Montreal studying at Concordia. Currently, she was working in a job she loved as an investment services assistant. When we remember Amy, we remember a young women filled with joy, beauty, laughter, intelligence and an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Amy is a spark that will never fade. Amy loved her travels to Europe, Australia and New Zealand and recounted those trips with exquisite detail and well-planned photos of places, people and food. She loved the year she lived with Erin in London, and they took advantage of the easy access to the rest of Europe and sharing their flat with plenty of visitors. She had an incredible memory and a joy of life that was infectious to those around her. Her zest for life included cottage and Florida holidays, squash, golf, watching football, photography and cooking. Amy had a tremendous love of reading and a personal talent for the written word-she wrote thoughtful notes and tremendously meaningful poems for any occasion. She was the best daughter, sister and friend. We will never forget her infectious laugh and her generous spirit. We are forever blessed to have had Amanda in our lives; even though it was a life cut short, her indomitable spirit and lust for life filled a full lifetime. She will be with us always. She was the Light of our World. We invite you to share with us in remembering Amy on Sunday, January 26, 2 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre at 375 Mount Pleasant Road. Babies and children are welcome. If you wish to make a donation, Amy would be pleased if you remembered World Wildlife Foundation. For information and service details please go to www.etouch.ca
