Amy GOTTLIEB Obituary

AMY GOTTLIEB Amy Gottlieb died on July 27, 2023, after dealing with lymphoma for five years. We are heart-aching at losing such an incredible woman, partner, lover, mother, grandmother, friend, activist, artist, colleague, and teacher (both literally and in the broadest sense of the word). Amy was a ferocious fighter for justice, leavened by compassion, love, honesty and hope. We are committed to carrying on her monumental spirit in our stories and memories. Amy was a transplanted New Yorker, arriving in Canada in 1972 to attend Trent University. She is survived by her lifelong partner, Maureen; and their son; Sam; their chosen daughters, Cindy, Jesse, Anta and Sadie; and their grandchildren, Zoë, Phia, and Zevi. If you would like to do so, Maureen welcomes donations going to Princess Margaret Hospital's Palliative Care Program Fund: https://supportthepmcf.ca/ui/DonateNow/donations/start. Amy, your wisdom, kindness, compassion and strength will never be forgotten.

Amy was an absolutely amazing person. Her writing is something that will carry on throughout time. The world lost one of the greatest smiles and enlightened souls the universe has to offer. I am going to miss her posts on FB and her support on my page....

I didn't know Amy Gottlieb all that well but I did know her as a committed activist and artist. I remember a very touching film she made about her dad Harry.
