ANDRE VARGA PAPP obituary

ANDRE PAPP Obituary

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was born on October 23, 1933, and passed away on October 23, 2025 - his 92nd birthday - surrounded by those he loved. His booming laugh, quick wit, and boundless heart left a lasting mark on everyone lucky enough to know him. His sense of sarcasm and humor was only outshined by his big heart and his endless capacity to care for people. Family and friends were at the center of his world, and he gave everything he had to those he loved. He was a man of action and adventure - never one to sit still. He loved all things active and outdoors: cross-country skiing, running, sailing, water skiing, and biking. If someone said something was a physical challenge, he took it as an invitation to master it. He also had a taste for life's finer things: dry martinis, a good glass of scotch, and Hungarian food so spicy it could bring tears to your eyes. He lived life with an unapologetic confidence and authenticity that few ever achieve. He believed in himself and in those around him so deeply that you couldn't help but believe in yourself too. Anything he set his mind to, he pursued wholeheartedly - and usually conquered with little effort. He lived five lives in one. From poverty and war to escaping as a refugee to a country where he didn't speak the language, he built an extraordinary life. By 24, he was married, expecting a son, and finishing his engineering degree at the University of Toronto while working multiple jobs. He went on to start his own company, build success, and travel the world. Later, he found love again and, at 64, welcomed a daughter. He lived every moment to the fullest, turning whatever life handed him into something beautiful. He is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Agi; his daughter, Jessica; his son, Steve; and his three grandchildren, Daniel, Natasha, and Zoe. He is also remembered by his twin brother, Joe; his nieces, Sue and Rita; and his great-nephews, Devon, Christopher, and Shawn; along with many others whose lives he touched with warmth, laughter, and love. His bright eyes, big smile, and contagious laugh will be remembered forever.
