 Andrew Aubrey Irwin 
 1925 - 2017
 
 Andrew (Andy) Irwin passed
away peacefully on June 1, 2017
at Trillium Hospital in
Mississauga, Ontario.
   Andy is survived by his wife of
38 years, Elaine. His three
children, six grandchildren and
one great-grandchild. Lynn Irwin
and her son Adam, Drew Irwin
(Janet) and their daughters Kaley
and Andrea, Jan Wishart (nee
Irwin) (George) and their children
David (Kaitlin), Lindsay (Andrew
James), Jenny Wishart and
Andy's great-grandson Caden
James. Andy's sister Frances
McLeod and his two nieces Leslie
and Linda McLeod.
   Andy was born in Regina
Saskatchewan and raised in New
Westminster, B. C. Following his
service in the Royal Canadian
Navy during WWII Andy earned a
degree at UBC. Andy always had
a passion for sailing and spent
many years with his growing
family enjoying boating and
sailing on Lake Ontario and Lake
of the Woods. In his retirement
and senior years he was very
active in the Naval Officers
Association and working with
school groups to educate
children about WWII. Over the
years Andy received many
honours and recognition for his
service and work. He was
honoured on May 25th as
Mississauga's Citizen of the Year.
   A celebration of life service will
be held on June 24, 2017 at 2:00
p.m. at St. Paul's Anglican
Church, 26 Stavebank Road,
Missisaauga. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to
N.O.A. C. Toronto Branch.
