Andrew WEST Obituary

It is with immense sorrow that the family of Andrew West, of Etobicoke, announces his unexpected passing, at age 57, while vacationing with his family in Jamaica, doing one of the many activities he loved, snorkelling. Andrew is survived by his soulmate of 38 years, Caroline (nee Watt); along with their son, Brendan William; and daughter, Megan Lenore, of whom he was extremely proud. Predeceased by his cherished mother, Judith Norrie West. Also loved by his father, William West (Geraldine, nee Barran); and his mother-in-law, Lenore Watt. He is survived by his siblings, Jennifer Neville (Gary), Jim West (Helena), and Sharon Scott (Larry). Also survived by his loving aunts and uncles, Thomas and Marilew West, Peter Atcheson (predeceased by Katherine Atcheson West), Margaret Norrie McCain (predeceased by Wallace McCain), Roderick and Eleanor Tucker Norrie; and predeceased by George Norrie. He was loved by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues. Andrew was larger than life. He lived, loved and laughed every day, and never passed up the opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest. His passions included travelling, music, golf, snowboarding, coaching hockey, and spending time with family and friends. He started his career in the pharmaceutical industry, working with Eli Lilly for 24 years before transferring his skills to Medtronic, where he specialized in Diabetes care. He always took pride in providing information on life saving medications. Funeral arrangements to be confirmed. Online condolences may be made at: www.turnerporter.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

My deepest condolences for your loss. Andrew and I were friends at Lawrence Park...we enjoyed school so much we also spent some time hanging out during summer school (apparently we had too much fun during the regular year). He was always full of joy, cranking the tunes in his car, driving us around after class with a big smile on his face. Always a friend to everyone he met.

I met Andrew through work at Eli Lilly, but our true connection as friends was through our mutual passion for music. Andrew was the heart and soul of the band and an incredibly talented musician. He could switch from lead guitar to drums with absolute ease and had impeccable taste in music. I will never forget his guitar solo for Hotel California.... Absolute perfection! Andrew never stopped gushing about his beautiful wife Caroline and took every opportunity to share the amazing accomplishments of his kids Brendan and Megan. He was so very proud of them! We will all miss you bro.... Until we meet again at that great Gig in the Sky.

Please accept my heartfelt and deepest condolences to Caroline and the kids and the entire family. He was a wonderful guy, and was a great friend, colleague and bandmate. To the family of our dearly loved Andrew, words cannot express how I felt and is still feeling upon hearing the news of Andrew's passing.
As a Jamaican, Andrew would always share with me of his stay in Jamaica.
He knew l had to drive by his favorite place to o stay, and then we would get lost in the conversation.
Andrew, is "A PHENOMENAL HUMAN BEING " who died doing one of the things he enjoys.
Andrew is loved by many who came across his way.
Our days at Lily were fun filled and will be treasured.
HOLD HIS MEMORIES CLOSE TO YOUR HEARTS as we EMBRACE YOU IN OUR ARMS"

To one of my best friends, I will miss you dearly. Many enjoyable rounds of golf together and many fun days of shredding the slopes together. Also, many great nights out with Brother Jim and Rick Davis which always ended up in a jam session in Andy´s basement. We all thought that we had many more days to spend together. You will be sorely missed my friend.
