Andy KNIGHT Obituary
ANDY KNIGHT Passed suddenly and too soon on April 11, 2008 in his 46th year. Loving husband and cherished friend to Linzi. Deeply loved and really fun Dad of Romi, Oliver and Sophi. Born in Pembroke, Ontario, the youngest of three children to Geoffrey and Betty Knight of Stittsville, Ontario who, along with their families, miss him greatly. Dear brother to Fiona Knight-Gagné (Michel) and Peter Knight (Marjorie). Andy is lovingly remembered by his niece, Caitlin, and nephews Nicholas, Ray, Davis, Jamie and Declan and their extended families. Greatly missed, too, by a world-wide circle of friends and especially by his extended family at Red Rover, the film and animation company he founded with Linzi in London in 1992. In 1996 he opened Disney Canada and brought Red Rover to Toronto. Andy was highly regarded throughout his field for his extraordinary talent. He was the creator of the Ned's Newt and Get Ed series. Director of Asterix, Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas and the British Academy of Film Awards-nominated Plumber. Andy was a loyal and generous colleague and mentor who set a lot of people on their paths, and saw potential everywhere. He was supremely social, quick to instigate a round, invite people over, and always first and best at recognizing a hilarious story. He'll be missed whenever friends and family are together and laughing - everyone has a favourite Andy story. Visitation will be held at the MORLEY BEDFORD FUNERAL HOME, 159 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto (2 stoplights west of Yonge Street), on Sunday, April 20 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service in the chapel on Monday, April 21 at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial donations to Plan Canada (Foster Parents Plan) www.plancanada.ca would be sincerely appreciated.
