Angus MCLEOD Obituary

ANGUS SPREULL MCLEOD

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angus Spreull McLeod on February 12, 2018, surrounded by family in San José, Costa Rica. Angus leaves behind his beloved wife of 35 years, Desirée; sons, Colin (Laura) and Fraser (Sarah); brother, Ian (Julie); and mother-in-law, Miriam. He was predeceased by parents, Donald and Margaret; and father-in-law, Gene.
Angus was born on April 24, 1953 in Montreal, Quebec, and was fortunate to be able to transform his love of the outdoors into a career as a Planner with Parks Canada, leaving a legacy of preservation of Canada's wilderness for future generations.
Angus was happiest when with his wife and boys, Colin and Fraser, travelling the world and spending time at the cottage at Lac Labelle. He treated everyone with compassion and generosity, always making an effort to learn more about the people he met along his journey of life.
On the morning before he fell ill in Costa Rica, Angus remarked on his pure happiness and joy of living in the moment. Pura Vida. He will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him, as he was a life taken suddenly and too soon. We welcome you to join us as we celebrate Angus' life on Saturday, March 3 at Knox-St. Paul's United Church in Cornwall, Ontario. Greetings will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to support the community through the Agape Centre Cornwall http://agapecentre.ca or Hospice Cornwall http://cornwallhospice.com
