Arthur TAMAKI Obituary

ARTHUR EIJI TAMAKI (1946-2022) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur ("Art") Eiji Tamaki on February 17, 2022, at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, at the age of 76. Much loved husband of Thelma Tamaki for 47 years, wonderful father to Lisa (Steve McGran) and Julie (Jeff Vanderby), and very proud grandfather of Owen McGran. Art was predeceased by his loving parents, Fumi and Hideo Tamaki. Brother of Danny, Naomi (Tad), Sachi (Ken), George (Lynn), and Diane. Brother-in-law to Jim (deceased), Debbie (Ken), David (Tammy), and Heather (Gary, deceased). Much-loved uncle to Stacey, Keri (John), Jeff, Jarrett (Kirsty), Leslie (Marc), Corbin (Melissa), Andrea (Matt), Tamara (Brian), Jenna, Leah, Erika, and Rachel (Ben). Friend to so, so many. Art will be missed for his quick wit and sly sense of humour, his kindness, intelligence, and integrity, and his ever-present smile. We will all miss him so very much. "He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who has left the world better than he found it…" (Bessie A. Stanley) For full obituary, and to leave condolences, please visit www.humphreymiles.com. Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles - Newbigging Chapel 416-487-4523

I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Art's passing. Although we hadn't had an ongoing contact over the years I still remember him as a caring, mild mannered and friendly individual who was always involved in or contributed to the activities at Innis. My sincerest condolences to Thelma and the family.

Thelma and family: Our deepest condolences for your loss - too soon. When you think about Art and his life with you, remember the words of that great modern philosopher, Dr Seus - "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."

Our heartfelt sympathy to you Thelma and your family. We remember Art's (and your) kindness showing us around Naples when we first started renting there. May your memories of him and your life together sustain you now and into the future.

Thelma, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. In some cases time stands still. I remember this lovely family of 4 with 3 beautiful little girls walking up Willowbank on their way to church. How wonderful you are able to enjoy a larger family and a grandchild. Rae had 2 girls, 15 and 12.
May God´s peace, strength, compassion and love be with you all during this time of grief.
Blessings
Rev. Marjorie Knill (Ostrander)
