I was so sorry to read this, Audrey was my neighbour on Deanbank. My children spent their very early years with Audrey being their extra special Grammy. She was a woman I thought of as a gift, she never showed her hurt from her loses until she met my Dad who was the lead investigator in the flight that lost Napier. Life is funny, the chance that Audrey would be my favourite neighbour that knew how to make fish cakes or boil salted cod, with that connection was a long shot. Your mother was a very special person to me and my family. May she rest in peace with your Dad.

We will miss Audrey who added so much to any gathering. She was the most generous hostess who made us feel so welcome. She had a great combination of a good sense of humour and her feet firmly on the ground, so was always wonderful to talk to.

I will miss talking with Audrey and loved listening to one of her many stories. We went on a few adventures together which I will never forget. Audrey will be greatly missed by us and many others.

We had the great joy of knowing dearest Audrey for over twenty years ..... It was love at first sight upon meeting her and our love only grew stronger over the years that we were friends. She survived many tragedies in her life and overcame them with courage, determination, humour, and fun..... This was truly a 'One of a Kind' lady and our sadness at her passing cannot be properly described in mere words. In short, Audrey was truly a "PARTY", and will never be forgotten. It was one of the absolute joys of this life to have known her, and she will live in our hearts forever. Katie and Eric Shapero

First and foremost , I would like to give my sincere condolences to Ian, Barbara, Peter, Nick and families. Audrey was a force ! I got to know Audrey as her veterinarian about 17 years ago , and then as her neighbor and then as her friend. Over the years , and especially when I lived a few houses away, Pacey and I would stop in and Audrey would always insist on giving my dog several cookies ! She loved all the animals in the neighborhood. The cats would come , the foxes too! And of course the birds ! We would sit and share stories of our families and experiences ! Audrey's memory was fantastic ! She was always kind and empathetic but steadfast in her beliefs and preferences ! Sometimes, we would sit and have a glass of wine and she would insist that my dog have a slinky minky blanket to sleep on while we chatted .
The last few months, my schedule changed and I hardly visited because I seemed to always just gotten off of a plane or just coming from my sick grandson's company ( daycare sick) , so I saw Audrey less and I feel really bad about that . She forgave me last visit , but still. I am very lucky to have known Audrey . She will be remembered always and sadly missed .
