Friday, March 20, 2009 in Florida. Avi Goldstein, beloved husband of Ericka. Loving father of Caryn, and Taylor. Devoted son of Rookie and the late Danny Goldstein. Dear brother of Karla, Jay and Angela, Dov and Deborah. Devoted uncle of Asher, Edan, Sarah, Samantha, Elijah, and Ava. Avi and I were close friends when we were both in Grade 9 at Westdale Secondary School in Hamilton in 1982/83. We lived close to each other and spent many many hours together, often at his house with his wonderful family. While we didn't keep in touch after high school, I often thought of Avi and have many wonderful memories of a kind, fun, and funny young man. I'm saddened to learn of his passing so many years afterwards, and wish to extend my very belated condolences to Avi's family and friends.
