Barbara BRUNDAGE Obituary

BARBARA ANNE BRUNDAGE (née Till) Barb passed away peacefully and surrounded by love, on April 29, 2020 at the age of 88. Predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Claude. Wonderful mother of Paul (Kate) and Anne Claudette (George). Devoted Nana to Emily, Alex, Zach, Rebecca and sadly predeceased by Christopher. Amongst Barb's many accomplishments, her career included being a kindergarten teacher, a consultant/Primary Specialist, and a leading developer/ teacher of the 'Creating Together' program with the Etobicoke School Board. 'Mrs. B.' touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness, positivity, unshakeable faith and joyful love of life. She was a connector of people and her ability to make any event, large or small, special will be missed by all who knew her. Barb loved spending time at the cottage, nurturing friendships and pursuing her greatest passion, her family. She succeeded by teaching us that creating a beautiful life together is really the most important thing we can do for each other. Special thanks to the exceptional health care heroes and staff at Amica Dundas for the loving care they provided 'Nana B'. A celebration of Barb's life will be held at a future date. During these unprecedented times, please consider feeding or helping someone by making a donation to your local food bank, Food4Kids Hamilton, or perform a random act of kindness to brighten someone's day. Nothing I loved better than the Brundage's coming over to our house. Barb and my mother were very close friends and, even as a young child, I could see that love and connection between them. She was a wonderfully accepting woman and just radiated love. I promise it was not the Laura Secord suckers she also brought each time she visited that made me fall in love. Because of that, of course, she married a man equal to her standards, and raised kids the same way. Although I still have a little guilt about how much we scared and tortured Anne while we were playing, many many many fun memories of my childhood involved the Brundages. Unfortunately, and with extreme sadness, life ends, even though we wish it didn't, Barb was an exceptional woman and I, for one, will always remember her.

Dear Anne, Paul and families,
We were so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. We remember her fondly and enjoyed chatting with her at extended family gatherings. She was very fortunate to have such a caring and loving family with her in her final days. She must have been so proud of you all!

I remember Mrs. B coming to our cottage and happily eating a hot dog with no bun because we had run out. She was gracious and just enjoyed the moment of having us all around laughing and having fun. She will be fondly remembered always.
Love, Kimberly de Witte
