BARBARA GOLDBERG Obituary

Barbie died peacefully, at her home in Toronto, on January 14, 2026, in the company of her loving siblings. She was 69. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her sisters, Hennie Corrin (Richard Corrin) and Patrice Goldberg; and her brother, Laurence Goldberg (Diane Spivak); seven nieces and nephews, Matthew Corrin, Rachel Nedelec (Adam Nedelec), Adam Corrin (Lexi Corrin), Jonathan Goldberg, Rebecca Goldberg, Eric Meche, and Michael Goldberg; and nine great-grandnieces and great-nephews; and will be sadly missed by many loving cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Elaine Goldberg; and her father, Percy Goldberg. Barbie was such a good person – a mix of grace, grit, style, competence and cool. She touched many lives in meaningful and indelible ways. She is already deeply missed. She received exemplary care from Dr. Arndt Vogel and his team at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Dr. Emily Swinkin and Dr. Holly Fennel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara's memory to: The Barbara Goldberg Family Fellowship in Liver Cancer at the Princess Margaret Foundation (when making a gift, donors can visit this link and under "Specific Areas" drop down menu, donors can select The Barbara Goldberg Family Fellowship in Liver Cancer Fund. supportthepmcf.ca/ui/SpecificAreas/donations/start) or Parkinson Canada (www.parkinson.ca/).

My deepest condolences to the Goldberg family. We meet through the Marathon Dynamics running club. Barb was so kind, friendly and fun. We hadn´t been in touch for a few years and I recently learned of her illness. She was such a wonderful person.

After meeting Barb on the Athletic Council at UofT I was honored to spent countless hours with Barb whether going on runs, working out at Sports Clubs of Canada, working on fund raising event for York-Finch hospital (truck pulls, 10 km running events) Terry Fox events and eventually dragon boating and Great White North Communications. She was always a guiding pragmatic voice in everything we did together and while we didn´t spend time together in recent years she was never far away in thought. Patti, Laurence and family my thoughts are with you and your family. I can only begin to imagine the void her departure has left in your family. Barry Wilson (416-879-8991)

It was a privilege and an honour to walk alongside Barbara over the last years, learning from her kindness, empathy, and grace. She was open, loyal, and endlessly patient, meeting everything with quiet practicality. My deepest condolences to her family.
