BARBARA HARPER 1935 - 2021 Barbara Moncrieff Harper (née Townsend) passed away peacefully in Toronto on December 19, 2021 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband Roulston (Roly) Harper who passed away in August, 2021. While her family and friends are heartbroken by her passing, they are comforted in knowing she is with her cherished husband of 54 years once again. Barbara was also predeceased by her sister Joyce McCreesh and is survived by her loving brother Gerald Townsend and two devoted step-daughters Sharon (Mike) and Nancy (Larry). She was adored by her five grandchildren Chris (Kerry), Adria (Bob), Jesse (Dana), Courtney (Dave), Amber (Brian), 11 great-grandchildren Aedyn, Ella, Jackson, Wyatt (Ashton), Paul, George, Sadie, Laney, Eli, Samantha and Rachel, and two great-great-grandchildren Isaiah and Ivy. She was also much-loved by her many nieces and nephews. To all who knew her, she was young at heart and in health and was the epitome of grace and sophistication with a quick-witted sense of humour that could light up a room. Along with her husband, she was always looking for opportunities to help anyone in need including making holiday packages for their annual Christmas Day delivery at the Salvation Army and endlessly knitting clothing for NICU babies in hospitals across the GTA. The family would like to thank the neuro/stroke and palliative care teams at North York General Hospital, especially Dr. Niren Shetty, for the compassion and care they provided in her final days. As per her wishes, there will be no public funeral service, but the family has established an online memorial page with the hospital's foundation where donations can be made in her memory at:
nyghfoundation.ca. 'Those we love never truly leave us.'
