MITCHELL, Barbara Elizabeth (née Weston)
On Sunday, April 29, 2001. A life joyfully lived. We will always miss her. Beloved wife of Dr. Robert Ian Mitchell; adored mother of Garfield, Eliza, Mark, Emma, Sarah and Serena. Dearly loved by sisters Miriam Burnett, Nancy Baron, Wendy Rebanks, Gretchen Bauta, and Camilla Dalglish, brothers Grainger, Garry and Galen Weston, son-in-law Charles Adamo, treasured granddaughter Charlotte Adamo, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws and wonderful friends. Born in Toronto, raised in England and Canada, a graduate of Stanford University and the University of London, Barbara was married in the South of France, and spent the first years of her marriage in New York and Sydney, Australia, before returning home to Toronto for many happy years with her family and friends. Barbara loved to laugh, to sing, and to learn. She took particular pleasure in the company of small children and unassuming, genuine people. She found the best in everyone and every situation. She lived her life true to her beliefs and according to her deeply held Christian faith. Especially during adversity we saw the essence of her character. She chose to be positive, courageous, and hopeful to the end. We are all better for knowing her.
