Barbara PADDON Obituary
Barbara Joan Paddon (nee McLean) went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, August 11, 2024. She was predeceased by her father, James C. McLean; mother, B. Jean McLean; brothers, James, David and Peter; and son, Ian. Beloved wife of Warren for 67 years and dear mother to Heather (Josef ), Jane (Tom) and Brenda. Barbara will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Daniel (Nina), Junia (Josef), Linnea, Jason (Arlene), Andrew (Megan), Leah, Terence, and Miranda (Fletch); as well as her great-grandchildren, Mynta, Flora, Tage, Iris, Leeland, Lincoln, Jadwin, Jethro, Ezekiel, and Eliza Rose. Barbara was a true friend, a gracious hostess with a special gift for hospitality, a listening ear, a talented musician, and an avid listener of classical music. She completed her ARCT and was a church musician for over 30 years, enjoying the privilege of playing for worship of her Lord and Saviour in the GTA. She diligently pursued her Christian faith beyond Sunday morning, engaging in Bible studies and reading Christian literature. Barbara was a wonderful and attentive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as an active supporter of missions at home and abroad throughout her life. We are thankful to Kipling Acres LTC for their care for Barbara over the last seven years. Our frequent family visits assured us that Barbara knew she was loved and loved us in return. While we grieve that she has left us in this life, we know that Barbara has entered the presence of Jesus as a renewed and joyful soul. "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." (2 Corinthians 12:9) As an expression of sympathy, donations to Faith's Orphan Fund (P.O. Box 726, Cambridge, ON N1R 5W6) would be appreciated by the family. Cremation has occurred. The Memorial service will be held at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church, 1585 Yonge Street, Toronto, on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 12 p.m. followed by a reception.
