BARBARA PORTER-MILLS May 21, 1955 - September 13, 2023 Barbara's family is sad to announce her recent passing at her home in St. Catharines. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Hugh Mills; parents, Keith and Merle Porter; and sister-in-law, Maryann Porter. Barbara is survived by brothers, Lawrence (Sheila), Robert and William (Bonnie); and also nephews and nieces, Graham, Lauren, Linton and Meredith, and their respective children. After Maryann's death, Barbara spent much of her time with Lauren and Graham when they were young children and growing up. Graham and Lauren are sure to miss their "Aunt Barb." Barbara was educated at BSS in Toronto, and Trent University. She will be missed by her old school friends, including the group known as the 'Valleyanna Vagrants.' Barbara lived in Toronto for most of her life, later moving to St. John's and then St. Catharines. She was an executive in the advertising industry, and was a longtime supporter and former Director of Osteoporosis Canada. Barbara was kind and generous. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially if the activity involved being on a boat or in the water. Barbara was at her happiest when piloting the 'Windy' across Lake Simcoe or through Georgian Bay. Funeral service at Lawrence Park Community Church, 2180 Bayview Ave., North York, on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a local food bank or Charity of Your Choice would honour Barbara's memory.
