BARBARA PRICE Obituary

(née Pharo) July 29, 1938 – January 18, 2025 With profound sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Price, beloved wife of Edward (Ed); cherished mother of Kent (Barbara), Ross (Susan), Tanya, and Brad (Lilly); and adored grandmother of Erica, Holly, Amy, Gregory, Scott, Sienna and Ethan. Also, Barbara was adored by her nieces and nephews in Australia. Born in Melbourne, Australia, alongside her twin brother, Ian, Barbara embraced a life rich in love, service, and adventure. She trained as a nurse, specializing in midwifery, and followed her brothers, Ian and John, to London, England, where she met Ed. The couple began their lifelong journey together, eventually settling in Oakville, Canada, where they raised their family. Barbara was a dedicated Registered Nurse, working at the Oakville Hospital and later at a local nursing home. She was a talented quilter and a proud member of the Oakville Stitchery and Quilters Guilds, creating cherished works of art for her family and friends. A passionate traveller, Barbara explored the world with Ed, from Africa and South America to Australia, New Zealand, and beyond, embracing every journey with curiosity and joy. Barbara's legacy is one of love, creativity, and resilience, and she will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home on Sunday, February 2nd, at 12 p.m. For details, visit www.arbormemorial.ca/en/glenoaks

I remember Barb well from the Oakville Quilters' Guild. We often shared a laugh together. I particularly remember taking Barb and two other guild quilters to a York Heritage Guild Show in Toronto at the Japanese Cultural Centre. There was a vendors mall, and as so many quilters will know, we couldn't help spending time shopping after viewing the show. Condolences to all Barb's family.
