BENITA MURIEL SENN August 23, 1929 - October 23, 2022 Benita Senn passed away peacefully at her residence in Leaside on Sunday, October 23, 2022. She and her husband, Stanley Alfred Senn, came to Toronto from England in 1955 and never left. Toronto was home. She practiced Physical Therapy for most of her life, starting at Sunnybrook Hospital and then at Private practices for over twenty years. Her tennis career in Canada started when the joined the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club in 1955. Over the years, her greatest tennis achievements were winning the Canadian Open Tennis Championships in 1964 and playing Federation Cup for Canada. She also held the Number 1 Ranking in Canada and in Ontario. Following her playing career, she enjoyed teaching tennis at both Tournament Park TC and Wingfield Indoor Racquet Club. Helping people improve their tennis was a great gift of hers. She is survived and dearly missed by daughters, Candy and Lise, and families.

Binkie and SAS were mainstays at the TLTC and around the junior tennis tournaments. Binkie with her gravelly voice and intimidating stare used to scare me a little when I was younger, then Candy told me one day at the Lawn, "Oh don´t mind her, she´s just like that so no one will bother her." And from that day on I always said hi to her and tried to "bother" her on purpose to get her to talk to me and maybe make her laugh. It worked and I got to hear that funny cackle-laugh she had (that Lise shares) and she became far from `scary´ to me.
Hope you are at peace Benita. Thoughts to you both and your families, Candy & Lise.
xoxo `Beave´
