Bernard KAY Obituary
BERNARD LAWRENCE KAY May 21, 1932 - October 19, 2021 Actor and retired criminal lawyer Bernard (Bernie) Kay's love of all things family, friends, music, running, theatre, crossword puzzles, the Blue Jays, laughter and practical jokes was well known and he will be cherished forever. Born in Winnipeg to Joseph and Jenny Kay, he was the youngest of four children. Bernie graduated from Manitoba law school in 1958, articled in Saskatoon where he met Teri the love of his life. They were married in 1963. Their children Joey and Sara live in Toronto, Sara with her husband Jason Dunn and beloved son Grayson Jonah. Bernie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and Uncle. Fiercely protective of his family. Coming from Western Canada, our home served as a jumping off point for many of our young relatives beginning their life in Toronto. Sunday night dinners were a regular routine. Bernie's criminal law career spanned over 40 years, ending with a stint as a Judge at small claims court. After retirement he resumed his interest in acting, culminating in the role of Saul in the hit series my 90 year old roommate. Throughout he ran marathons, wrote children's stories and travelled the world with Teri. He will deeply missed by his family and friends but most of all his loving wife Teri.
