BETH LAURENE LOUISE VERNON

(February 19, 1939 – January 29, 2026) Beth Laurene Louise Vernon, 86, of Newmarket, Ontario, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Toronto on February 19, 1939, Beth lived a full and vibrant life marked by her deep love of family, cherished friendships, and a lifelong commitment to her community. Beth shared a happy and loving marriage of 56 years with her devoted husband, Robert, a partnership filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering support. A dedicated volunteer, Beth served as Vice?President of the Auxiliary to the former York Country Hospital (now Southlake) and as President of the Newmarket Ladies Maple Leaf Probus Club. Her generosity of spirit and willingness to give back touched many lives. Beth had many passions. She was an accomplished bridge and bid euchre player, an avid gardener, and a talented creative soul who found joy in needlework, decorating, and entertaining. Athletic throughout her life, she was also a competitive curler and served as President of the Ladies Section of the York (Newmarket) Curling Club. Music and theatre were lifelong loves. Gifted with a beautiful singing voice, Beth performed for many years with the York Philharmonic Choir and attended countless musical and theatrical performances. Above all, Beth found great joy in time spent with her family, friends, and sorority sisters. She will be remembered for her warm laugh, generosity, resilience, and the kindness she shared so freely. Beth is lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert; her daughter, Laurie (Karl); her son, Brent; her daughter?in?law, Dominique; and her cherished grandchildren, William (Kaitlyn), Samantha (Emmanuel), and Benjamin. A celebration of Beth's life will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Madison Greenhouse, 160 Bayview Parkway, Newmarket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Margaret Bahen Hospice. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Cathy Lu and all the staff at Margaret Bahen Hospice for their compassion, and to Meseret, Fre, and Bella for their loving care.
