BOHDAN ALEXANDER BUCZKO obituary

BOHDAN BUCZKO Obituary

June 12, 1957 – September 1, 2025 Let us tell you about Bohdan. He was a husband, a father, a grandfather and a friend. His wedding speeches were legendary, the kind people remembered for years, and his love for his wife, Frances, of 45 years, was just as unforgettable. He loved her beyond anything. It was the kind of love you see in movies, only theirs did not fade when the credits rolled. It was real. Bohdan raised his hand for everything. He coached soccer, baseball and basketball. He served on the boards of several not-for-profits. He was president of the Toronto Forest Hill Rotary Club. Bohdan's two daughters, Kathryn and Andrea, were always daddy's girls. There was nothing he would not do for them. He was their confidant, the one who always listened, never repeated a word and never passed judgment. He was also their financial advisor, chauffeur, dog walker and cat sitter. He was their coach, cheering them on and helping them grow in life. More than that, he was their mentor in school, in work and in relationships, always guiding with wisdom and kindness. His love for them, and their love for him, was unconditional and ran very deep. Bohdan's grandchildren, Walker and Kit, were the twinkle in his eyes. His interests included cheering on the Raptors, Leafs and Blue Jays, which meant celebrating the highs and enduring the lows with equal passion. He also loved live theatre, puttering at the cottage, followed politics closely, read widely, enjoyed amazing dinners, elevated experiences and fine wine. Bohdan gave his family every ounce of his energy to ensure they had the best life possible. He lived with humour, generosity and love, and he leaves behind not only memories, but a legacy that will continue in the lives of those who knew him. His was a life well lived and well loved. Bohdan was a very special man, and he left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Broken-hearted are Bohdan's wife, Frances (née Sarkus); his daughters, Andrea Anders (Jonathan Anders) and Kathryn Buczko Dutton (Jeffrey Dutton); and his grandchildren, Kit and Walker Dutton.
