Brian was a great teacher and friend at FSU in the mid 60s. He taught me a lot about life and professionalism and fun.

Brian was one of my favorite teachers at the U of PA over 50 years ago.

Brian was an extraordinary mentor for me as an undergraduate student at the U of Calgary. His book on Modal Logic is a cherished possession on my bookshelf. He co-supervised my Honours thesis. Brian generously spent many hours working with me in his office doing formal proof using mathematical logic. Each work session began with Brian sharpening a set of pencils. This ritual of sharpening pencils before working on logic was a way of clearing our minds to make our minds sharp.

We were so saddened to hear of Brian`s passing. My mom worked for and with Brian at the University of Calgary for many years and we became good friends. I sang with Brian at Café Koi in Calgary a few times and he played guitar with Judy Threet at our 25th wedding Anniversary at Rafter Six Ranch Resort in 2011; he also played guitar while I sang at my Mom´s memorial barbecue in 2015. he shared with me his love of jazz guitar and as a result, I have been learning some jazz guitar since. I will always think of him fondly, and will miss his wonderful music. Merry, my heart aches for you and I will keep in touch. Very sincere condolences to you and Semi.

I was saddened to hear of Brian's passing, and will miss his humour and his musicianship. We shared many good times over the years in the Wednesday Night Big Band and other groups. My condolences to Merry and Semi and to all those whose lived where enriched by knowing Brian. Farewell my friend.

Brian was a dear friend ever since 1957 when our family moved to Sarasota. We played a lot of music together over the next few years. Love to Merry and Semi from Carolyn and me at this difficult time.
