Brian CRANFIELD Obituary

J. BRIAN CRANFIELD 1931-2023 The family of J. Brian Cranfield announce his peaceful passing, surrounded by family, on November 29, 2023 at age 92. Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife, June, of 70 years; and his three children, Mark, Louise, and Sarah; spouses, Jane, Peter, and John; as well as grandchildren, Amelia, Henry, Nicholas, Kate, Miles, and Rowan. Brian lived his early years in England where he met the love of his life, June, at the St. Lawrence Youth Club. After attending the Birmingham College of Art, he began his design career. He emigrated to Canada in 1956 establishing both a family and his own company, Cranfield Stephens and Associates. Later, as the co-founder of D.I.Design, his work took him worldwide. He will be remembered for his commitment to excellence in art and design, quick wit, and gentlemanly nature. Brian embraced life with a passion that was contagious to all who knew him. We are very sad at the passing of our dear uncle Brian. We have such lovely memories of family get-togethers in Canada and the UK. Brian was always kind-hearted, generous and fun to be with. We loved his infectious dry humour and our love now goes out to June and family. We also felt very privileged to be able to be with the family when Brian was laid to rest and reunited with his parents in Niton. Thank you Brian for so many wonderful memories. Rest in peace. Love Sue, Richard, Steve, Lisa and families.

I was so sad to hear of Brian's passing. I worked with Brian for over 20 years when he was a partner at Design International and have nothing but the most fond memories of our time there. He was such a lovely man, with the best sense of humour, mannerisms, quips, and an unmatched design talent. Everyone at DI loved him dearly.
My deepest condolences to June, Mark and your whole family.
