Brian CROOKES Obituary
It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce Brian's sudden passing from a heart attack on March 13, 2024. Brian leaves behind Veronica, his cherished partner of 39 years; his siblings, Dave, Lea and Susan; nephew, Talon (Tabeah); nieces, Amber, Debbie and Mary; grandnephews, Vito, Cyrus and Zenek; and grandniece, Sasha. He is sorely missed by his loving aunt, Ollie; his cousins, Linda (Louis), Darryl (Lynn), Aimee (Jim) and Wayne (Teresa); as well as their children, Ryan, Michael, Brendan, Benjamin, Cameron, Kate, and Jake. Brian recently retired from Synamedia, where he worked for 28 years. He was a dedicated employee and had a successful and fulfilling career. As a creative and innovative thinker, Brian had several patents registered under his name for the design of state-of-the-art products. Brian was passionate about his role at the company and very much enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside many talented colleagues. Brian was known to be a highly principled, intensely loyal and a very compassionate person. We will miss his animated presence. He was a witty and well-read individual, who enjoyed lively intellectual debates about various topics, especially politics and world events. Brian enjoyed travelling with Veronica on various trips to the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Asia, Europe and Australia. He also loved the outdoors, especially summers at the cottages in Killarney and Manitoulin where he enjoyed hiking, canoeing and stargazing by a fire, staying up to the wee hours of the night. Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of his life with his immediate family will occur at a later date. We will miss Brian greatly. He will forever be in our hearts.
