I recently learned of Bruce's passing from one of my colleagues and wanted to extend my condolences to his family. I did not know Bruce very well, but I remember him when he was working at Unilever Canada.

Remember fondly our association with Bruce at work (Unilever) and times spent socially.

Bruce was a dear friend for about 30 years. I got to know him through the legal work that McCarthy Tetrault did for Unilever. Bruce remained a loyal friend, who was incredibly generous. He was an open minded, liberal thinker who could see through narrow mindedness and think outside the box. He did not suffer fools lightly, and was a character. He was kind and thoughtful, but also not afraid to speak his mind.
I have many fond memories from the many years I knew Bruce. Ski trips, a great AHI university alumnae trip to Russia, dinners at the RCYC. The Mctaggart family farm where Bruce grew up, is very close to my property in King. Mctaggart Drive in Nobleton is named after his family. Bruce felt very sad when the family farm had to be sold. But, he put on his gardening gloves and preserved some of his mother’s beautiful roses and planted them at his home in Toronto. He also preserved what he could from the old farmhouse.
I am very sorry to have lost Bruce as a friend, so soon. I hoped to be able to see him again when covid subsided. I extend my most heartfelt condolences to the family. Bruce’s memory will always be with me, and he will be sadly missed.
