BRUCE TAYLOR Obituary

(April 26, 1930 - June 23, 2025, Toronto) Bruce Wymer Taylor, P.Eng, our Dad, was an honest, loyal and dedicated Husband, Dad, Grandad, great Grandad, Uncle and Friend. His love for his family was unconditional and unwavering. Dad's storytelling and delivery of a good joke were greatly anticipated by the many family and friends lucky enough to have shared a meal at the family cottage in Muskoka. Family dinners were almost always with a last minute guest, or three. Mom and Dad fostered a unique family closeness and harmony in the next generations that they were deservedly proud of. Based on their example, their children and grandchildren do the same. It's a gift for which we are all grateful. Dad is predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years Mary Alison, and their son David Bruce Wymer. His children Cynthia Ellen (Ciro Pasini), Margaret Ellen, Mary Elizabeth, Anne Louise (Jack, Vanderholst), his Grandchildren Kathleen, Cameron, David, Laura, Rebecca, Zoe, Quinn, Blair, Claudia and Paige and his Great Grandchildren, Rosemary, Weston and Mason will deeply miss his strong presence and love. He was so proud of all of us. Dad will also be missed by his sister Peggy Howe and his many nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention. We have a strong and mighty family. Dad was an academic with many achievements which include Honours Graduate of UTS receiving The Nesbitt Gold Medal, an Honours Graduate of U of T receiving numerous scholarships for physics & President of Alpha Delta Phi. In his professional life his career was with Fenco Engineering as Project Manager and Manager of Procurement for many buildings in the GTA. As well, he was President Toronto Racquet Club, a Member Canadian Construction Documents Committee, a proud mason and Past Master of Harcourt Lodge #581 GRC and a Trustee for the Art Gallery of Ontario. A celebration of a life well lived will take place in the Fall. Fluctuat nec Mergitur

Cynthia, Elizabeth & Anne, I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. Having been the recipient of his & your Mother's hospitality & warmth at their home or cottage in years pass it was obvious where their family got their sense of fun & true friendship. Qualities that will live on in all of you & the next generations - a fine legacy ! My condolences to the entire Taylor clan.

A great Muskoka legacy. As I write this looking at the river which flows to the lake, many memories of the Taylor´s and our fond memories of the family fun with our great neighbours

My deepest condolences to you all. Bruce (and Alison) were indeed exactly what you describe. Although I have known him virtually my entire life, he was as fine a mason as one could find.
