C. BEIERL Obituary



BEIERL, C. Douglas (DDS)
Passed away at the Lapointe-Fisher Nursing Home, Guelph, on Tuesday, October 16, 2001, after a long and difficult illness, bravely endured. Beloved husband of Catherine (Compton). Dearest father of Steven and the late Douglas (Jr.). Brother of Barbara Ward and James Beierl. Doug was a RCAF Flying Officer during W.W. II. He later became a Dental Surgeon and then a Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto, where he was highly respected by his students, for many years. He was also associated with the Dental Department at the Hospital for Sick Children. Doug was an active member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Guelph and he volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society. He was a longtime member of the Islington Sportsmen's Club, Caledon and the Wellington Men's Club, Guelph. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Funeral Service will be held at the WALLCUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk Street, Guelph, on Friday, October 19, 2001, at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Vern Tozer officiating. (Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre). Interment at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Caledon.
